#107 REDHEAD @ THE RUSSIAN RIVER

While salmon fishing along a secluded bank of the Russian River on the Kenai Peninsula, a local angler named Brandon and his two out-of-state college friends noted a series of unusual disturbances across the water. While practicing his fly-casting loops, Brandon first spotted a patch of vibrant, chimpanzee-like red hair moving through the opposite brush line, which he initially joked was a fellow redhead angler.

Stashing their gear near a trail cooler, the group walked out into the river channel in their chest waders when three small stones were systematically 'plunked' into the current directly adjacent to each of them ('plunk plunk plunk'). Looking up toward the source, they observed a colossal creature crouching inside the thick willow line just 40 feet away, parting the branches with massive hands to look down at them.

The entity featured deep, sunken eye sockets, a flat broad nose, and an immense frame completely covered in dense, orangutan-orange or auburn fur. As it stood up fully, its absolute scale clearly towered over the 10-to-12-foot tall shoreline willows, prompting the terrified men to scream, trip, and scramble wildly back through the current to abandon their heavy camp cooler and flee the drainage.
