Around February 15, 2019, an experienced outdoorsman and former law enforcement officer named Mark Frank was exploring a remote seismic trail roughly five and a half miles down Oil Well Road near Ninilchik. Glassing through his binoculars in a low-horizon winter landscape with four feet of snow, he spotted what initially appeared to be a hunter crossing the path 150 yards away. Mark gave a friendly hand wave, and the entity immediately mirrored the identical gesture with its right hand. However, the situation quickly escalated when the massive, hair-covered silhouette shifted to all fours and crossed through the heavy snow at impossible speed, cutting the gap to within 80 yards.
As Mark used his phone to capture several photographs, a distinct heat-wave-like shroud shimmered over the creature. It crumpled face-first into a flat pool format on the snow and visibly morphed its entire body mass into a moose structure, though its facial muzzle appeared heavily distorted and twisted. Hearing a trailer chain jingling from an approaching vehicle behind him, Mark backed away fifteen steps and turned around; when he looked back, the presence had completely vanished. Later that May while glassing for post-hibernation bear slides near a 400-acre lake past the Terminal Road cutoff outside of Valdez, Mark discovered a fresh mudslide.
Observing the terminus, he documented a large female Sasquatch standing Overwatch on a ridge shelf while two juveniles repeatedly jumped on their backsides to sled down the steep vertical slope. The family unit was supported by two separate adult sentries posted on higher cliff ledges 100 yards back, maintaining a strategic Overwatch position.
