#91 WALK DON'T RUN, RUN DON'T WALK

Around 2014, two brothers, Kyle and his younger sibling (spaced less than two years apart), were foraging wild berries along a remote backcountry trail roughly a mile and a half deep from any actual road system on the outskirts of Fairbanks. After picking berries, they detected an unsettling, low-frequency 'grumbling' acoustic pattern that seemed completely constant and unceasing within the thicket, prompting them to pack their buckets. Kyle initiated a brisk, tactical trot but forced himself to drop back to a fast walk to avoid executing a predator-prey chase trigger, continuously enforcing a 'walk don't run' mantra to his panic-stricken brother.

Stopping a quarter-mile into their trek to listen, the pacing abruptly stopped; looking back, the brothers made direct eye contact with a giant, dark figure standing 40 yards away that seamlessly slunk into the alder brush line. The brothers panicked and bolted. Running three-quarters of a mile, they stopped to catch their breath when a series of heavy physical thuds ('thump thump thump') cut across the trail path directly ahead of them, revealing the entity had executed a high-speed crescent flank to ambush them at a thicker choke point.

Evacuating the drainage, the younger brother made point-blank eye contact with the 8-foot-tall, deep brownish-black haired entity looking directly out of the trees, its black eyes locking onto him as they ran past. Reaching a dirt road culvert near a swampy slough, Kyle noted the silent silhouette tracked them to the edge, blending seamlessly into the foliage 60 yards away.
