While working to clear it, they heard whistling from the shore and turned to find a hairy man crouching on the bank. After shouting at it, the brother-in-law fired a shot into the air, causing the entity and two other unseen companions to crash away through the brush. On another occasion, a group of five women on a dead-end trail heard what sounded like children playing, only for the noises to circle behind them; checking the trail, they encountered a hairy man accompanied by two smaller ones that ran off making a strange laughing sound.
Another experience details a recent investigation by Fred and his partner Ryan at Miss Carol’s property near Kinney Lake, a former cult farm site. They noted a high-strung atmosphere and discovered unusual tree breaks alongside two saplings flexed into a hard 90-degree 'X' structure on the ground. That evening, Miss Carol spotted an orb outside; Fred investigated and observed an opaque, shimmering, salmon-colored light that slowly retreated into the timber as if trying to lure him into the brush, followed later by a red orb.
An encounter from a traveler named Mark recalls camping in August 2015 at a pullout midway down the primitive McCarthy Road. After hearing a loud, pigeon-like cooing sound moving in a horseshoe pattern, a heavy thump forcefully shook his Toyota pickup truck. Stepping out to investigate, his flashlight illuminated a massive figure standing near the front of his vehicle. Mark described it as having a heavily wrinkled, hairless, leathery black face, a wide jaw with thin lips, a flat nose, and black eyes with a light reddish eye shine. The entity slowly walked past the side of the truck, staring down at his hiding dog, before unleashing a blood-curdling scream that vibrated the vehicle's frame as it thrashed away into the trees.
