During an early spring hike up the finger valleys of Troublesome Creek, an adventurous young couple named Jenna and Mark stopped to dry off and build a small campfire after a mishap crossing the frigid water. The quiet isolation of the woods was suddenly shattered when Jenna’s distinct, sharp giggle was perfectly mimicked back to them from the dense brush behind their camp. Horrified by the impossible echo, the couple frantically began packing their gear to flee. The psychological terror escalated when Mark whispered "stop that" in frustration, only for the unseen entity to instantly parrot his exact words back to him from just a few yards away.
Mark raised his shotgun as a towering entity—resembling a 7-foot, grizzled-gray 'Ewok' with a broad face and bulbous nose—stood up from the brush, holding out a cupped hand while continuously mimicking Jenna's giggle. As Mark locked eyes with the giant, Jenna turned to see three smaller, 5-foot-tall hunched creatures scurrying through the timber behind them.
