An indigenous village hunter embarked on a multi-day backcountry moose hunting trip miles away from his community. On the third or fourth morning, while scanning the open landscape, he spotted a large brown form moving on all fours across the tundra, initially assuming it was a bear. Through his binoculars, he watched the creature travel over several tundra ridges until it suddenly stood completely upright and continued down a slope, leaving only its massive head and shoulders visible over the crest. Realizing it was a 'hairy man' actively staring back at him, the nervous hunter moved down to the river bottoms to provide the entity with plenty of space.
Shortly after, the hunter located a moose and signaled his arriving son to take a quiet position and dispatch the animal. The duo quickly quartered and prepared the harvest, but because darkness had set in, they had to leave the meat bundled at the site overnight. The father, terrified that the stalker would claim their prize, stayed hyper-vigilant and failed to sleep a wink all night, keeping the sighting hidden to avoid panicking his son. Fortunately, they salvaged the meat untouched at dawn and safely escaped.
In a separate incident shared by the same source, a man named Vincent and his cousin were returning late on individual snowmachines after harvesting firewood when they got stuck at dusk without sleeping bags or firearms. Flipping one sled onto its side to serve as a windshield over a small fire, Vincent dozed off, only to be nudged awake by his cousin pointing out glowing eye-shine high up in the tree branches. The pair instantly fired up their cold engines and fled onto the center of a frozen lake channel where they sat exposed all night; upon returning to retrieve the second machine at twilight, the exact same high-altitude eye-shine materialized again in the timber, forcing their immediate departure.
