ATV, Dirt Bike, Snowmobile

These shares involve encounters reached or interrupted while traveling by ATV, four-wheeler, dirt bike, or snowmobile—trail rides, winter trips, and backcountry travel where the machine is part of how people got there or how they got out.

Common threads are remote trails and muskeg, sudden stops or breakdowns, things seen or heard from the seat of a machine, and groups or families who came for recreation, wood, trapping, or hunting and left with a story they did not expect. Browse these shares if you want reports from the trail and the snow—not just cabin and campground groundings.

This footage documents a Memorial Day weekend excursion into the Knik River Valley, specifically targeting the trails surrounding the Knik Glacier and Moose Meadows. Fred (the host) narrates a ride through the rugged, rutted ATV trails near the Matanuska River, documenting the changing landscape and local wildlife activity, including an eagle's nest and active beaver dams which have significantly altered the local hydrology.

Approximately 3 years prior to 2026, two cousins, Jacob and his relative, embarked on a snowmachine expedition into the Chugach Mountains to collect beetle-kill firewood and set traps for marten and wolverine. While mapping out a clearing, the cousins were intercepted by a 10-foot-tall, dark, hulking entity standing between two trees. The entity’s presence was confirmed by a series of sharp, rhythmic 'whooping' vocalizations that circled their location, forcing the pair to flee.

Seven years prior to 2025, a couple named Craig and Marcy took their 12-year-old son Daniel to a family cabin located deep in the wilderness beyond the Willow/Big Lake corridor. While clearing their access trail, they encountered two separate pairs of hikers warning of a 'strange man in a fur coat' stalking the perimeter of the muskeg. During the build, they suffered repeated disturbances, including a jingle bell toy being snatched and thrown and heavy thumping on the cabin walls.

Siblings Donnie and Becca were allowed to have a night of camping in a tent with their uncle's permission during a snowy night about ten years ago.  That night, they had an encounter with a hairy man who continued to harass them while they were in the tent.  Thanks to some of the village sled dogs who tracked them down, and then their uncle and some adults, they were safe.

Julius was snowmobiling with friends about seven years ago when he had an encounter after his snowmobile cut off.

Years ago, Geraldine was out with her grandfather on the snow machine looking for caribou when he warned her about the Hairy Man.  About a year ago, she returned to Alaska and was out with her dog.  When she saw the sasquatch, her dog went to run after it when the peaceful forest friend picked him up and smashed him on the ground, killing him instantly.  She ran back to the village and told her neighbor, who told her son.  The son grabbed his rifle and went back out to retrieve her dog's body for burial.  For whatever reason, her pet was missing its head.

David shares his experience from 40 years ago, when he was 10 years old, while checking up on his grandfather's remote cabin with his uncle.  At the cabin, they were surrounded by sasquatch terrorizing them as his uncle fended them off during the night.  In the past, his grandfather (his uncle's father) told them about the issues he had with the sasquatch and why he never enjoyed his time at the cabin.

A share from Brad about his terrifying encounter that took place about a decade ago while riding his dirt bike.

In memory of Tom, co-host of the "Creek Devil" channel.

An account from Oscar's nephew recalls discovering a bloody tent near Slana where they witnessed four to five robust, 5-to-5.5-foot-tall, lemur-like monkey creatures with human faces fleeing into the brush while making strange monkey noises. Another experience shared by Oscar describes spotting three 5-foot-tall creatures with 3-foot-long tails running along the Copper River shoreline like rabbits before rapidly ascending a steep dirt bank.

An encounter shared by an Athabaskan couple, Alvin and Myrna, occurred in February 2020 while hiking the Devil's Creek Trail near the Kenai Peninsula with their nine-month-old Tibetan Mastiff, Skippy. While navigating an uphill stretch on a packed snowmachine trail, Alvin was walking slightly ahead of Myrna, who was admiring the scenery further down the path. Suddenly, a voice perfectly replicating Myrna's exact pitch and tone called out the dog's name from a thick patch of snow-covered willow shrubs directly ahead of Alvin.

In the early fall in a remote, unspecified Alaskan village, an early-20s woman named Shiloh and her young female cousin take a four-wheeler out into the wide-open tundra to scout local berry patches. While traveling along a horseshoe-shaped trail roughly a mile from the nearest tree line, they spot a hulking, nine-foot-tall figure standing about 50 yards away. The creature begins gently gesturing toward them, casting an immediate psychological trance over Shiloh.

In August, an experienced outdoorsman in his mid-60s named Douglas traveled by four-wheeler to the Savage River area where it intersects the Stampede Trail to search for signs of a missing person, Mary Wilson. Arriving near twilight under dense forest canopy, he heard loud, abnormal yelling sounds and witnessed a large silhouette cross the trail.

An indigenous village hunter embarked on a multi-day backcountry moose hunting trip miles away from his community. On the third or fourth morning, while scanning the open landscape, he spotted a large brown form moving on all fours across the tundra, initially assuming it was a bear. Through his binoculars, he watched the creature travel over several tundra ridges until it suddenly stood completely upright and continued down a slope, leaving only its massive head and shoulders visible over the crest.

During the final cleanup phase of a seasonal placer gold-mining camp situated off the Yukon River drainage, an imported heavy equipment operator named Doug was running a loader in a deep mining pit. During his pre-dawn shift, he noted an edge-of-vision dark form darting into the tree line. At midday, while sitting in the camp smoking area, Doug heard a terrifying, screaming howl echoing from the pit, prompting him to ride a four-wheeler down to investigate under the assumption that a co-worker was injured.

In the fall of 2019, just before the pandemic, a local high school senior named Jane was babysitting five young cousins (ranging in age from roughly five to twelve) at a federal HUD housing unit in a remote northwest coastal village of under 500 year-round residents near the Bering Sea. After coming indoors, the two youngest children were caught staring out a bedroom window, giggling and waving at a 'silly man' standing inside the immediate willow and scrub brush lines. Assuming it was an overactive imagination, Jane dismissed the event.
