In the summer of 2019, two retired medical consultants, Candace and Michael, embarked on a 30-foot boat excursion from Seward, Alaska, with friends. Seeking shelter from an incoming coastal storm, they anchored in a protected bay. During the early morning hours, the group was jolted awake by a terrifying, high-pitched air-raid siren-style shriek emanating from the nearby forest. Assuming a hiker or camper was in distress, Michael and the boat owner, Spencer, deployed a small runabout to investigate.
Upon beaching and entering the dense, mossy old-growth timber, they were struck by a heavy, palpable sensation of watching. While Michael radioed their status, Spencer remained on high alert, his hackles visibly raised as they climbed a low ridge. At the crest, they observed a giant, pitch-black humanoid entity peering from behind an old-growth tree at point-blank range, its form silhouetted against the dark canopy. Upon calling out, the entity vanished silently.
As they retreated to the vessel, the entities began a synchronized, multi-octave acoustic campaign, utilizing screams that vibrated through their chests and the water-surface. Fleeing back to the boat, they spent the remainder of the trip under intense, irrational psychological pressure, characterized by a persistent fear that the creatures would board the vessel in the darkness.
