In mid-June, two brothers named Douglas and Thomas reunited after a 12-year separation for a camping trip at a relative's remote cabin on the Nushagak River in the Bristol Bay area. Accompanied by Douglas's wife, the trio enjoyed a peaceful first day watching fishing guide boats drift by. However, the relaxing reunion was shattered on the second morning when Thomas spotted a massive entity lurking behind the property's outhouse.
Thomas warned his older brother, who initially dismissed the claim as a prank. Oblivious to the conversation, Douglas's wife stepped outside to use the restroom and came face-to-face with a massive, rusty-orange, orangutan-like entity standing just inside the brush line. After she screamed and retreated to the cabin, the terrified group decided to immediately pack up their gear and evacuate. While ferrying totes down to the skiff, Thomas caught the creature aggressively peering around the outhouse at him from just 15 feet away. Panicking at its menacing grimace, Thomas fired a .270 caliber round directly through the outhouse wall, prompting a chaotic scream from the brush as he sprinted back to the cabin.
As the trio made their final sprint down the switchback trail to the running skiff, the encounter turned violently explosive. The creature ripped the entire outhouse from the ground and hurled the structure directly at Thomas, narrowly missing him but cutting his arm with its tin roof. Douglas immediately fired a shotgun blast at the squatted entity, causing it to flee into the timber with a bizarre, frog-like hopping motion. The creature's retreating scream was instantly answered by a much louder roar from a second, larger entity behind the cabin. As the group scrambled into the skiff and pushed off into the river, Douglas looked back to see a massive, pitch-black figure standing silently at the corner of the cabin, watching them escape.
