#310 BROTHERS REUNION PT2 NUSHAGAK RIVER ENCOUNTER

Less than 72 hours after their terrifying escape from the remote Nushagak River cabin, brothers Douglas and Thomas were forced to return. During their frantic evacuation, Douglas's wife had left behind her vital, irreplaceable cancer medications. Accompanied by a heavily armed elder relative who had previous experience with the "hairy man" in the region, the trio traveled back to the Bristol Bay wilderness to retrieve the life-saving satchel.

Upon arriving at the site, the elder relative led the way, finding the outhouse roof submerged in the river and the cabin door standing open. Inside, they discovered a freshly dead, soaking-wet beaver placed deliberately in front of the wood stove. Outside, the cabin's survival gear had been bizarrely scattered in a zigzag pattern leading directly toward the dark timber. Just as Thomas successfully located the untouched medication bag among the scattered gear, an ear-piercing, shrill shriek erupted from the nearby tree line. The elder relative instantly dropped to one knee and fired his .45-70 rifle into the brush, causing a massive entity to crash away through the timber.

Before locking down the cabin, the elder ordered Thomas to remove the dead beaver, which he tossed into the nearby brush. Sensing an impending ambush, the elder ordered the brothers to sprint down the switchback trail to start the skiff. Just as the elder rounded the final corner to the landing, the encounter turned surreal. The dead beaver was violently hurled out of the brush like a massive ninja star, spinning with incredible centrifugal force. The carcass whizzed past the elder and slammed directly into Douglas's back, severely winding him and nearly knocking him out of the boat. Thomas and the elder immediately returned fire into the timber as the creature peeked over the brush, allowing the men to push off the bank and escape safely upriver.
