#311 HOW FAST CAN YOU RUN

Tyler and Jacob were hired by a family friend named Sophie to winterize her aging home on the remote outskirts of an undisclosed Alaskan village. While replacing the exterior skirting on the house, the men noticed that Sophie's Pomeranian—who had been yapping constantly from inside the windbreak—had suddenly gone dead silent. Investigating the silence, they found the dog petrified and shivering in the corner. Above the trembling dog, the top of the door was warped inward, and a massive, greasy handprint reeking of death and body odor was smeared roughly nine feet up the doorframe.

Later that evening, while eating inside, the men heard a bizarre, unnatural "motor" sound, followed by a massive thud against the back of the house. Shortly after, Sophie returned on her Honda four-wheeler, heavily armed with a .300 Win Mag rifle. She ordered the men inside and revealed that a towering, unnaturally fast entity had paralleled her through the brush on her ride home. Realizing they were being surrounded by multiple entities, the trio decided to immediately evacuate to the center of the village using Sophie's single four-wheeler. Because the old ATV's suspension was shot, Jacob was forced to run alongside it in the dark while Tyler drove and Sophie rode on the front holding her rifle and the dog.

As they fled down the dark road, Jacob spotted bright red eye shine in the dark timber, and they heard the heavy thud of an entity rushing them from behind. They were soon aggressively paced by multiple creatures utilizing horrifying "chitter-chattering" squirrel mimicry and "click-pop" vocalizations to communicate back and forth across the road. Sensing imminent danger as the creatures closed in, Sophie fired a warning shot into the trees with her high-caliber rifle. The blast pushed the entities back just enough for the terrified group to reach the safety of the main village, though the creatures continued to randomly slam on the walls of Tyler and Jacob's homes over the next few days.
