After noticing massive 18-to-20-inch footprints, Jerry observed an estimated 11-foot-tall figure weighing 800 to 1,000 pounds swaying with a pendulum-like cadence in the brush and growling. Simultaneously, a 5-foot-tall, reddish-brown juvenile figure with long arms was caught stealing a salmon directly from the fish wheel before chirping like a bird. Jerry was so panic-stricken that he crashed his four-wheeler, abandoned his trailer, and fled on foot. When neighbors later retrieved his gear, they were pelted with mud and grass by an unseen presence making demonic noises. Returning the following year, Jerry found his abandoned shotgun twisted and broken inside the fork of a cottonwood tree stump.
