Vocals or Jibberish

These shares involve vocals or jibberish—non-scream language-like noise, chatter, and unintelligible talk from the dark timber.

Common threads are conversation-like audio without clear words. Browse these shares if you want vocalization beyond pure screams and growls.

Jesse shared his encounter from May of 2022 that took place at the Granite Creek Campground on the Kenai Peninsula. Like so many who experience these encounters, his love for camping is completely ruined.

John, a long-time trapper, had to cut short his trapping season once he realized what was stealing from his traps. As he decided to hunker down at his remote cabin until his resupply plane came through, he was surrounded by three Sasquatches attempting to intimidate him. They failed and John instead went on offense.

Derrick shared this incident involving wolves and a Hairy Man that took place in the 1990s on the Kvichak River with him and a coworker. There are accounts of Sasquatch keeping wolves as pets or using them for some purpose. I'm gathering more information on this lesser-explored aspect of their behavior.

While hiking, a mother and her young son were terrorized by several Sasquatches next to Bertha Creek on the Kenai Peninsula. As her son, who was carrying their small dog, was crying and sobbing, a smaller juvenile was mimicking back his screams and cries to perfection. Sadly, her son has been severely traumatized and she's having trouble looking for some professional help from someone who'd be open minded and sympathetic to this experience. This incident happened last week in late May of 2022.

Two brothers went on a moose hunt and things didn't go as expected. This encounter highlights the inconceivable strength of these creatures when considering the weight of a moose.

Scott, Caroline, and Mark had a terrifying encounter while hiking off Skilak Lake on the Kenai Peninsula, where they were cut off on a trail, surrounded, and inspected by three Sasquatch. Thankfully, a local who alerted them was able to run to his boat and evacuate them.

While enjoying a private family fishing trip drifting down the lower Nushagak River, Michelle, her husband, and their teenage son were interrupted by a piercing, two-finger whistle echoing from the shoreline. Assuming it was just another angler celebrating a catch, they ignored it—until the sharp whistle was followed by a bizarre, garbled chatter resembling a twisted form of Pig Latin mixed with animal grunts.

Hoping to harvest some fresh morels, Cheryl and two of her retired friends drove just north of Willow to explore an old, steep wildfire burnout area near the Alaska Speedway. Navigating the tangled, charred "pickup sticks" of fallen trees was exhausting work, so the ladies sat down on a sun-bleached log around midday to enjoy some tea. Their peaceful afternoon shattered when the entire interconnected pile of logs beneath them began to shift and jiggle.

In the winter of 1970, Thomas traveled to Kaltag along the Yukon River to help his recently widowed niece with house repairs. Hyper-vigilant from his past terrifying encounters, Thomas spent his afternoons scouting the nearby valleys on a snowmachine. His worst fears were realized when he spotted a Hairy Man sprinting up a mountain and disappearing into a cave. For weeks, he desperately tried to keep his niece’s two young children close to the house, but his refusal to explain exactly what was out in the woods caused a bitter rift between them.

Certain that his fishing captain was just trying to prank the new guy with local tall tales, Caleb arrogantly agreed to camp out in Rainbow Valley near Aleknagik in the late 1980s. His skepticism vanished on the third morning. While brewing cowboy coffee over the fire, Caleb felt a massive presence behind him. He turned to find an enormous entity crouched on all fours just 25 feet away, staring directly into his eyes. In a state of pure shock, Caleb let out a nervous laugh—which the creature immediately mocked back at him with a terrifying, booming baritone.

While exploring the rugged, scrub-brush terrain near Root Glacier in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, a man named Joe and his friend spotted a massive head peering over a nearby knoll. Moments later, they watched in awe as the enormous creature effortlessly navigated the massive, treacherous glacier boulders, disappearing into the woods with impossible speed and coordination.

This share is an encounter experienced by a couple, Tom and Mary, while setting up their commercial set-net fish camp in Bristol Bay. Being the first to arrive for the season, they were alone on the remote beach when they began hearing strange, moose-like calls and noticing dark figures darting between the massive rocks along the shoreline. Their curiosity quickly turned into terror when they realized they were being actively stalked by at least three entities—one standing over ten feet tall, a smaller scraggly creature, and a massive black shape maneuvering along the bluff above them.

Former cabin builder Jeff shares his story about encountering The Hairy Man while building a remote cabin for a wealthy client.  He experienced this encounter with an assistant named Art, a native gentleman from up north who had a previous encounter of his own with The Hairy Man.

Here's a story of mine from my younger days back in 1984 when hiking with my older sister and her boyfriend, when I heard a distinct whistle and voices in the distance where nobody was.  I also share a scarier experience of mine of voices in the wind that happened while camping with friends in Sunshine Valley.

I share an experience I had in 1998 with my friend William while hunting for spruce chickens at a gravel pit off Aleknagik Lake Road.
