During an early spring hike up the finger valleys of Troublesome Creek, an adventurous young couple named Jenna and Mark stopped to dry off and build a small campfire after a mishap crossing the frigid water. The quiet isolation of the woods was suddenly shattered when Jenna’s distinct, sharp giggle was perfectly mimicked back to them from the dense brush behind their camp. Horrified by the impossible echo, the couple frantically began packing their gear to flee.

In the harsh winter of 1958, a year before Alaska officially achieved statehood, a seventeen-year-old Native named George was hired to be the solitary caretaker of a remote trading post in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. To pass the isolated winter months, George spent his time building dog sleds and tending to his eight-dog team. The quiet solitude shifted in late November when his normally boisterous sled dogs suddenly became terrified, cowering in their wooden doghouses and refusing to make a sound.

This account details an encounter from a husband and wife team, Doug and Marty, who were traveling toward McCarthy along the Copper River Valley's notorious McCarthy Road. After suffering an electrical failure in their RV, they pulled over for roadside repairs. While the husband worked on the vehicle, the wife prepared a meal inside.

In June, Janette and Ross, while visiting family on the Kenai Peninsula, frequented a hiking trail near the north Kenai River. Over three days, they encountered increasingly unsettling phenomena, including unintelligible whispering that seemed to track their movement from the ridge-line above.

In 1987, a father and son, John and John Jr., were working to finish a remote log cabin project in the interior of Alaska. Their labor was disrupted by an unseen entity that methodically sabotaged their equipment, including uprooting a generator shed and repeatedly banging on the cabin walls.

Bridget and Jeff, an expectant couple, visited a remote cabin in interior Alaska near Fairbanks for a week-long getaway. After their relatives departed, they were subjected to a 30-hour campaign of psychological and acoustic terror. It began with human-like 'throat-clearing' sounds outside the treeline, followed by a piercing, high-pitched whistle.

In the early 1960s, siblings Agnes and Dean ventured upriver from Portage Creek near the Nushagak River to scout for berry patches. Their day took a dark turn when they witnessed a bull moose abruptly stand up and flee toward them, banking hard to avoid something pursuing it from the brush. A moment later, they heard an echoing, guttural 'elephant seal-like' grunt from the dense willows.

In June 2025, a newly licensed bush pilot named Timothy borrowed his brother's Piper Cub to fly from Lake Hood to a remote cabin site between Anchorage and Fairbanks. After topping off fuel from his friend's remote cache, Timothy began a solo exploration of the nearby backcountry. Landing his plane on a short tundra strip, he hiked a low ridge at 11:00 PM to photograph wildlife.

Paka, an Inupiaq villager from the Noatak River Valley, shares deep oral traditions and personal sightings concerning the Sasquatch and the 'little people' (Inun) of the Arctic. Paka details various classifications of little people, including the 'Inuor'—mischievous, garden-gnome-like beings with red eyes and immense strength known to carry large game, such as caribou, across the tundra.

In the winter of 2006/2007, a pilot named Brian and his partner Casey established a trapping partnership in the Chugach Mountains, flying a Piper Cub to deploy trap-lines for marten and wolverine. While conducting low-level aerial maneuvers to scout an open marshland meadow, Brian spotted a brownish-rusty colored figure standing motionless in the center of the clearing. Circling back for a closer look, the entity bolted into the tree line at extreme speed.

Around 2025, a family group—Walter, Bernice, and their adult son Michael—traveled the Taylor Highway near the Mosquito Fork bridge. Crossing the span, they witnessed three massive figures crossing the road, each possessing a distinct, thick, four-foot-long tail. The entities stood approximately nine feet tall.

In the summer of 2019, two retired medical consultants, Candace and Michael, embarked on a 30-foot boat excursion from Seward, Alaska, with friends. Seeking shelter from an incoming coastal storm, they anchored in a protected bay. During the early morning hours, the group was jolted awake by a terrifying, high-pitched air-raid siren-style shriek emanating from the nearby forest. Assuming a hiker or camper was in distress, Michael and the boat owner, Spencer, deployed a small runabout to investigate.

In 1982, Paul and his son Alec, who was ten years old, were on a hunting and fishing trip when they came across a hairy man.  As Paul navigated Alec and himself down the trail back to the cabin, they were followed.  Once back at the cabin and inside, they were terrorized all night.

Samuel and his son had an experience together encountering a hairy man on the banks of the river while on a skiff.

Travis shares his experience while repairing a cabin for a client.  The owner would have the cabin repaired frequently, under the assumption it was due to bear activity.  The pilot who picked up Travis after the project knew about the hairy man.
